This is not the end.

It is not even the beginning of the end.

But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

**************************************************************

This picture was taken today, about two hours ago. It is the first day of the Scottish school year,  L's first day of proper school, and S and A's first day in the nursery at the school (sort of a half way between nursery and reception, for those of you down South).

And I have come home to a very quiet house, with this post in my head, and discovered that Tara has set Emotion as the subject for the Gallery.  And although I have been rubbish and haven't done the Gallery for months, this seems like more than coincidence.

I'm not sure what emotion it is though.  I'm not sure what I'm feeling at all.  I can't quite identify it; but I have a very odd feeling in my stomach.

  1. Your youngest two are SO grown up! Makes me realise how long I've 'known' you!
It is such an emotional time; sad, happy, proud, exciting.
I tell you, these parenting milestones are going to be the death of me!

  2. Parenting milestones are such big things for us. I love how tiny they look. I look at the preschool children now and think how small; they are now mine are going in to years 2 and 3. At least you have M at home with you for hugs

  3. I recognise that feeling. It's uncomfortable, change is hard but honestly it just keeps on getting better...'oh,the places you will go' on this parenting journey :)

  4. There's something about little ones in school uniform which makes me very broody - so sweet. Have you got the twins back with you now or are they staying a full day?

I know. I'm sorry. I hate these word recognition, are you a robot, guff things too, but having just got rid of a large number of ungrammatical and poorly spelt adverts for all sorts of things I don't want, and especially don't want on my blog, I'm hoping that this will mean that only lovely people, of the actually a person variety, will comment.

So please do. Comments are great...
