On giving my children the attention they crave.

The thing is, jigsaw puzzles really aren't a spectator sport.

      No, really, they're not.

  2. Also, whatever you do give they'll only want more. Manage expectations....

    1. Benign neglect. The parenting code I live by. Sadly though it only works 95% of the time.

  3. I love them, but the kids get a bit annoying whilst I'm trying to concentrate on Noddy's car. it's complicated!

    1. Remind me to post you the doublesided Rose Window of Chartres....

Of course it doesn't help that I *hate* jigsaws. My children, unfortunately, take after their father on this one.

  4. As long as they're not doing that dodgy 1970s one you're fine.

  5. I'd forgotten that one. But no. Peppa Pig and Octonauts...

  6. Oh yes - benign neglect. Or "If you ignore them long enough they will eventually find a way to entertain themselves."

    1. Or murder each other. Which will also have the advantage of silence.

  7. Oh jigsaws... We're awash with jigsaws at the moment. Hamish has suddenly become a jigsaw enthusiast since discovering that you can buy Playmobil jigsaws. At the moment he's on the 100 piece size, but he's advancing on to harder ones all the time, and I don't know how I am going to maintain my enthusiasm once we enter into 3D territory. Seriously time for me to get back out to work.

Jigsaws as a competitive spectator sport...

  8. We have got beyond the jigsaw watching. Although the boys would still love me to just sit and watch them play!

    1. To be fair, I love sitting and watching them play. Unfortunately as soon as I enter the room, the playing tends to stop and the fighting start...

I know. I'm sorry. I hate these word recognition, are you a robot, guff things too, but having just got rid of a large number of ungrammatical and poorly spelt adverts for all sorts of things I don't want, and especially don't want on my blog, I'm hoping that this will mean that only lovely people, of the actually a person variety, will comment.

So please do. Comments are great...
