Moving house - aged 33 1/4

It's really happening.  We have accepted an offer. And had one accepted.   Scotland here we come.

Am both excited and scared.  And can't quite believe it. Wish us luck.

  1. Wow! Brilliant. Don't actually move until I get back in April - would love to have a coffee in SW London before you go!

  7. We moved from south of England to Fife (near St Andrews) and LOVED our 6 years there. Took a while to get used to it. There's a lot more of a culture shock than we expected.

    Good luck with the move.

  8. Hi, just read your comment on my blog and I heartily agree that you will need your Uni notes. I take mine everywhere *just in case*. I am convinced that they enrol us on a secret brainwashing class where they tell us that we must cart our notes around with us for the rest of our lives just in case we need them for a job. My partner could pack his belongings in a single cardboard box, and yet in that box would be his Uni stuff. (No practical household stuff mind you, that apparently is all mine).

Anyway, best of luck in Scotland. I am Scottish, from Ayr on the west coast. It's a lovely country, but it's quite different to living in England. Every shop assistant will chat to you about your shopping (e.g. "ooh, that's a nice loaf, you want to try the granary version. I had it with jam.". It's only when they start on about your choice of tampon that it begins to feel a little intrusive!).

Oh and if you do get rid of loads of stuff and feel like your new house is a little bare, swing by my parents and they will gladly donate everything I have asked them to keep for a 'little while' over the past 15-ish years which is clogging up ther loft, and my extensive 1960's coffee set collection that is filling their double garage. Good luck with the move!

I know. I'm sorry. I hate these word recognition, are you a robot, guff things too, but having just got rid of a large number of ungrammatical and poorly spelt adverts for all sorts of things I don't want, and especially don't want on my blog, I'm hoping that this will mean that only lovely people, of the actually a person variety, will comment.

So please do. Comments are great...
