The Gallery: Two

Almost exactly two years ago, on 31 May 2011, I took part in the Gallery.

The subject, then, was I am grateful for...

And, that day,  I was grateful for this:

Now here we are.  Two years later.  And on 31 May 2013 Tara set a new Gallery theme.  It is Two:

And so is my boy:

I am still grateful.

PS: He got two cakes, too:

    1. Until it gets terrible... Actually he's pretty good at the moment, but I am bracing myself for a surge of independence and testosterone.

  6. He's gorgeous - and he's a very lucky boy to have 2 cakes. I'm not joking about the cake class when I see you next, by the way - I need your help! x

    1. Thank you very much!

Sadly though I have this theory that cute children make rather average looking adults, but hey ho, he's having his glory days now!

    Oooh I LOVE that car!

I just bought my two and half year old Richard Scarry's "Cars and Trucks and Things that go" and he spends the entire time pointing at all the vehicles saying "I want that for my birthday". Coz one time I asked him which one he wanted for his birthday cake. I'm slowly beginning to regret that question.

I'm with carrotcrush - lessons please? Don't suppose you could do a step-by-step lesson on your blog eh?

    Beautiful photos!

    1. That book was his absolutely favourite birthday present - just had to wrench it off him to put him to bed!

Step by step lesson to follow next time I have to make one! But in the meantime the top tip is to freeze your cake before cutting into shape and chill it a lot once the butter icing's on. (Learnt that off the net last week!). Oh, and the car cake I got off youtube - can't remember what she's called but she's Israeli and I just searched for car cakes...

    1. All gone cake (as the birthday boy said, rather sadly, yesterday).

      Sorry!

And I love his curls too - hence why I haven't had his hair cut yet... at what stage does that become parental cruelty, I wonder?

    1. I know! I couldn't believe it two years ago, in hospital with my tiny newborn, realising what the theme was then...

And then Tara went and did it again! Thanks Tara!

  13. Lovely boy you have there. I was a bit at sea with a new born, but I loved the toddler stage (all stages, but there is something wonderful about toddlerhood). A baby doesn't make me broody, but a two year old does!

I know. I'm sorry. I hate these word recognition, are you a robot, guff things too, but having just got rid of a large number of ungrammatical and poorly spelt adverts for all sorts of things I don't want, and especially don't want on my blog, I'm hoping that this will mean that only lovely people, of the actually a person variety, will comment.

So please do. Comments are great...
