The small stuff - in print (and maybe live)!

It's one of those little acorns, mighty oaks moments...

I wrote a post, which lots of people loved, which was flattering enough in itself, but then two things happened:

First, Pickle Pie sent me a lovely print of more of my small stuff, which is gracing the wall in my new kitchen as I type!  I love it - and they were brilliant about trying to match up the colours and also putting up with my dithering and mind-changing.  And it's beautifully framed too!.

And now I'm told that one of my posts has been selected for reading at BritMumsLive!.  And although I don't actually know which post it is yet, I can't really imagine it's any one other than this.  And even if I can't go, and I can't do it, that still feels like a big thing from a very small post...

    1. So am I! But I've just made the call, and I'm not going. The just Saturday idea was a goody but just isn't practical from here - even on a 6 am train (which they prob don't run on a Saturday) I'd not be in to Kings Cross until 10.15...

Feeling rather sad about it now.

I too got a picklepie print of my small stuff and it is in front of me as I type. I love it

    1. Sadly I've made the call and in the end L's last day at nursery won out. Which I think is the right call, but...

  4. Yay! You know I loved this post and was happy to be your Twitter Pimp to help spread the word too - you went viral, dude! That's so lovely about BritMums too, well deserved, and no matter what you decide your words will be there which is rather lovely. Cx

    1. Sadly I think it's me *and* the post, not either or. And there's no me, so no post...

Hey ho. Will just have to hope they pick me next year!

  5. It was my favourite post of the past year (and the one I put forward for the MADS). I loved writing mine and the way that it got picked up by everyone with no tagging or asking just because it made people feel good was amazing and something you should be so proud of.

And it was part of the inspiration behind my new blog too. So thank you http://thehappinessjar.com/

  6. Oh how did I not see this and your previous post about the dilemma! I just assumed you were still going, although hadn't heard any more from you when we were discussing hotels.
In my life, my son always comes first. I decided not to do an am-dram show this year as I knew it would clash with GCSEs and I didn't want to be leaving my boy in the evenings when he needed normality. And if BritMums hadn't been this weekend, when his exams are over, I wouldn't have gone.
So the nursery presentation and the meeting of other parents is, in my opinion, a good call. I'm sorry I won't see you but it won't change the friendship we've developed online.
If I survive this, my first conference, I will see you at another one xxx

    1. Thank you!! Have a brilliant time. And actually from the level of excitement I'm getting from L, and the amount of preparation they've been putting into "certificate day", I'm really pleased that I haven't had to tell her I won't be there...

I know. I'm sorry. I hate these word recognition, are you a robot, guff things too, but having just got rid of a large number of ungrammatical and poorly spelt adverts for all sorts of things I don't want, and especially don't want on my blog, I'm hoping that this will mean that only lovely people, of the actually a person variety, will comment.

So please do. Comments are great...
